FANS at the Ulster GAA final between Tyrone and Down have been treated to a fly-through video of the proposed new stadium at Casement Park.

The artist's impression of the planned Provincial Stadium in Belfast showed a panoramic view of the stadium bowl, as well as the proposed sporting and community facilities.

Fans also caught a glimpse of the project's education, culture and heritage centre, which showed a museum-like space with walls adorned in historical GAA photographs.

The new ground was first proposed more than a decade ago and it has hit a number of speed-bumps over the years.

Ulster GAA submitted its planning application for the new stadium earlier this year following a 32-week community consultation process.

Findings from the consultation revealed that 95 per cent of people that responded were in favour of the designs, which proposes a spectator capacity of more than 34,000.

Tom Daly, Chairman of the Casement Park Project Board, said the video brings to life the sporting, community, cultural and economic opportunities the new stadium hopes to offer.

"We are extremely excited about the plans for our new stadium and we want GAA members, people in the local community and everyone that has an interest in the project to see for themselves the impact it will have and to have their voice heard on the project," he said.

"The Ulster GAA team is looking forward to the outcome of the planning application later this year and the opportunities that the stadium will provide for future generations across, Belfast, Antrim and Ulster."
