MANCHESTER City manager Pep Guardiola has been lined up as the special guest for a harity event hosted by Rory McIlroy.
'An Evening with Rory' will see the world class golfer take to the stage at Belfast’s Waterfront Hall next month alongside the Spanish football coach and award-winning Coleraine-born actor James Nesbitt.
Throughout the evening, the trio will discuss their careers and plans for the future, with all proceeds going to children’s charities supported by the Rory Foundation.
The foundation was established in 2013 and beneficiaries include the Cancer Fund for Children, Mencap NI and Sport Changes Life, which are all based in Northern Ireland.
'An Evening with Rory' will take place on Tuesday, July 4, and will coincide with the opening of the third annual Dubai Duty Free Irish Open at Portstewart Golf Club, which tees off two days later.
A percentage of tickets sold throughout the tournament will also go to the Rory Foundation.
The Holywood golfer said he can’t wait for the event to get underway.
"It’s great that both Pep and Jimmy Nesbitt are giving up their time to help us raise as much money as possible for my foundation and the great causes we support – I really am indebted to them," he said.
"With Dubai Duty Free behind us again as the title sponsor, it’s all shaping up to be another incredible week’s golf."
