FOUR men questioned on suspicion of attempted murder after a man and a woman were struck by a car in west Belfast have been released.

Police said the men who are 27, 30 and two aged 28, were released on bail pending further enquiries.

They had been detained after a couple in their 20s were hit by a black BMW as they walked along the Andersonstown Road, close to the Kennedy Centre, during the early hours of Tuesday.

The car involved is believed to have left the scene and was abandoned at Gransha Park off the Glen Road, after it collided with two park cars.

The PSNI said the injured couple were taken to hospital for treatment, which are not believed to be life-threatening.
