THIS is the dramatic moment when a woman confronted a youth after the latest report of street crime in west Belfast.

The photograph was posted on Facebook by the Colin Area Residents Collective after a car was broken into in the Beechmount area on Tuesday night.

Police confirmed they were investigating a report of a Volkswagen Polo being targeted at around 9.30pm in Beechmount Avenue off the Falls Road.

A front passenger window was broken and items stolen. While a handbag was retrieved, a purse is still missing.

No arrests had last night been made in connection with the theft, which came less than a week after residents of the nearby lower Falls area came together for a rally against anti-social behaviour.

It followed an attempted theft from a tourist near the International Wall in broad daylight which was captured on camera.

Meanwhile, a 14-year-old boy and two youths were arrested yesterday after a stolen car crashed into another vehicle on the lower Falls, after earlier hitting a police vehicle.
