A CO Fermanagh businessman has been killed in a tragic accident while mowing grass at the caravan park he owned.

Ivan Bradshaw, who was aged in his early 60s and was the owner of Drumhoney Caravan Park in Lisnarick, died after the incident at the caravan park at around 8pm on Friday evening.

It is understood that the lawnmower he was using tumbled on top of him as he was mowing around a grass bank.

Mr Bradshaw was married with three children and three grandchildren and is also survived by his mother.

Ulster Unionist MLA for Fermanagh and South Tyrone, Rosemary Barton, spoke of her "profound sadness and shock" at the news and said Mr Bradshaw was a "big man with an even bigger heart".

She said: "Earlier this week when I met him he was his usual smiling, happy self who always had a joke with everyone he met. He gave of his time generously in raising much needed funds whether for local causes or national charities.

"He was continually developing Drumhoney to enhance the experience of visitors to Fermanagh and he was one of the first to add ‘Glamping Pods’ to his property, making the park more appealing to all age groups.

"However, first and foremost, Ivan was a dedicated family man, a son, a husband, father and grandfather. To his wife Evelyn, and family circle I would like to offer my sincere sympathy."

Chairman of Lisnarick Football Club, Steven Ormsby, said it was a "very sad day for the village of Lisnarick and beyond".

PSNI Inspector Glen Latimer said: "The man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The death is not being treated as suspicious and local PSNI will work with partner agencies as they investigate the circumstances."

Mr Bradshaw's funeral service will take place in Priory Church, Killadeas, at 2pm on Tuesday, with burial afterwards in Sydare Cemetery.
