A CO Down primary school choir have seen their odds shortened to win ITV reality show, Britain's Got Talent.

St Patrick’s Junior Choir, from Drumgreenagh near Rathfriland are now joint fourth favourites ahead of this weekend’s instalment of the show.

The choir, which includes children between the ages of 8 and 12, received a standing ovation from judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon when they appeared on last week's how performing Keane's, `Somewhere Only We Know'

Simon Cowell told the children that he "loved it, loved it, loved it... I am thrilled to start this off with a ‘yes’,".

Later, the school’s Twitter account was inundated with praise, including from X Factor winner Sam Bailey who said the performance "gave me chills".

BoyleSport said the choir had gone straight into the betting with 12/1 odds however, this had now been dropped to 10/1.

The Missing People Choir remain 3/1 favourites.

Aoife Heffron, spokeswoman for BoyleSports, said: "We have seen a lot of support coming in for St Patrick’s Junior Choir to win BGT, with a number of large bets being placed in the Co Down area. Due to the sheer volume of bets, our traders had no choice but to slash their price to win to 10/1 from 12/1".
