THE family of a Co Derry teenager - believed to have been missing in the River Foyle - are "80 per cent sure" a body recovered from the water is that of their loved one.

Dean Millar (18) and from the Creggan area of Derry, is believed to have entered the river in the early hours of Sunday, March 12.

His family have been carrying out daily searches since his disappearance.

On Tuesday evening, Foyle Search & Rescue revealed they had been tasked by the PSNI to "reports of a body observed in the water".

It was reported that the body had been found on the shore outside Newbuildings.

An update on the #helpgetdeanhome Facebook page later added: "We can confirm a body has been recovered from the Foyle tonight. We are 80 per cent sure it is Dean but it has to be officially confirmed."

A further update added to the page yesterday read: "As of yet nothing has been officially confirmed about the body recovered from the Foyle on Tuesday. We have been told it may take up to another 24hrs for confirmation.

It comes three weeks after another missing man, 23-year-old, Jack Glenn, also from Derry, was recovered from the River Foyle.
