A 32-YEAR-OLD man arrested in connection with the murder of prominent loyalist George Gilmore has been released unconditionally.

The former UDA commander (44) was driving his car when he was shot in the neck in Carrickfergus on Monday March 13.

He died in hospital the following day.

Two men have already appeared in court in Belfast charged in connection with his murder.

Three other men, aged 30, 33 and 34, were arrested last week but later released unconditionally.

The PSNI is continuing to appeal for witnesses to the attack.
