AN actor and musician has appealed for help in raising funds after a car crash which killed his niece and left his brother in a serious condition.

Estlin Wall was being driven to her crèche in Co Clare at the time of Wednesday's crash.

Her father Vincent remains unconscious in hospital in Dublin after suffering a serious brain injury.

Steve Wall, who has featured in Silent Witness on the BBC and the 'Rebellion' programme examining the 1916 Easter Rising on RTÉ, made the appeal at the weekend on his Facebook page.

Also the lead singer of The Stunning and The Walls, Steve wrote: "Vincent is in hospital in Dublin with massive brain injuries and still hasn't opened his eyes. It's a tragedy beyond belief and we are all in bits.

"Estlin was a little joy bringer, a beautiful bright spark that brought out the best in all that came into contact with her - a true reflection of Vinnie and Amy - two incredible people who along with Estlin and their three month old baby Mannix are cherished by the community in Co Clare and far beyond."

Mr Wall added: "Please don't send any flowers, but consider donating something, no matter how small, to this fund set up by the community of Ennistymon to help Amy and Vinnie through the difficult times ahead and Vincent's rehabilitation."

Almost €60,000 has been raised to date.
