A 42-year-old man has been arrested by detectives from the PSNI Serious Crime Branch investigating an explosion inside a postal van near the headquarters of MI5 at Palace Barracks in August 2015.

Police said at the time the explosion was caused by a device hidden inside the post office vehicle.

Two other cars and garages within the sprawling complex were also damaged in the attack.

The postal worker who had been driving the van was not inside when the explosion occurred and no was was injured.

The man is being held at Musgrave Street station for questioning. A 60-year-old man arrested last year in connection with the same explosion was released unconditionally.
