THE motorcyclist killed in a crash in Co Tyrone has been named as Lyes Haddad.

Originally from Algeria, Mr Haddad lived in Cookstown with his wife and two children. He was aged in his 40s.

He died after his motorcycle collided with a car on the Lough Fea Road, near Cookstown on Wednesday at around 7.45pm.

A relative told the Mid-Ulster Mail that he "was the darling of the family" and that his mother "has been crying so much" since his passing.

Mr Haddad's death brings the total number of people killed on the north's roads so far since the beginning of the year to three.
