Don’t deny it – whether it’s an ex, or a crush or simply that travel blogger whose life you’re jealous of, we all love to indulge in a good Instagram stalk.
And while you can still get away with screenshotting snaps that appear in your home feed, you might want to take note of a new feature on the app.
Instagram now notifies if someone takes a screenshot. Be careful @silverbtf pic.twitter.com/n4olOvKg0L

The new update allows users to send private disappearing photos and videos directly to a group or individual friends.
But beware, it also comes with a function which means that whoever has sent you this photo will know if you screenshot it.
People were really freaked out by this new screenshot notification function.

Look, just to make sure you’re not having a meltdown about screenshotting that photo yesterday, which awkwardly the person took like three months ago, this handy little video explains the update when it comes to Instagram Direct rather nicely.
“Unlike other messages in Direct, these photos and videos disappear from your friends’ inboxes after they have seen them. And you’ll see if they replayed it or took a screenshot,” Instagram pointed out in its announcement.
So, back to creeping Instagram feeds you go…
