THE funeral will take place on Tuesday of a Northern Ireland fan who died in France watching his team defeat Ukraine.

Robert 'Archie' Rainey (64), from north Belfast, passed away in the stands in Lyon whilst watching Northern Ireland's group C match.

At the team's final group game with Germany fans chanted 'Archie, Archie, Archie' in the 64th minute in tribute, while the Northern Ireland players wore black armbands.

Following his death the Rainey family said their beloved 'Archie' died "doing what he loved best".

A short service will take place at his late home at Benview Park at 2pm and will be followed by a celebration of his life at Roselawn Crematorium at 3.30pm.
