Police issue CCTV footage of suspect in Lenadoon bus assault

Police have issued an image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with an assault on a bus in west Belfast.

POLICE have issued a CCTV imageand stills of a man they wish to speak to about an assault on a teenager on a bus in west Belfast.

The incident occurred on a bus in the Stewartstown Road area at about 4.20pm on Monday February 1.

A 16-year-old boy required hospital treatment for a head and mouth injury.

The man who police wish to speak to in connection with the assault got off the bus at Lenadoon.

Constable Colin Jackson said: “I would ask anyone who recognises this man, or anyone who knows anything about this incident, to contact Woodbourne Police Station on the non-emergency number, quoting reference number 892 of 01/02/16. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

Police have urged anyone with information to contact officers on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
