Man shot in feet was targeted in similar attack a week ago
A MAN shot in the feet in a paramilitary style shooting in north Belfast on Wednesday was targeted in a similar attack last week but escaped injury.
The 36-year-old was shot in an alleyway in the Jamaica Road area shortly before 11pm. He was taken to hospital but his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Police said the man was walking in the direction of Ardoyne Road when he was confronted by three masked men close to steps leading to Bonehill Park.
They dragged him into the alleyway where he was shot twice in each foot.
The man is understood to be the same person who was targeted in a similar attack on Wednesday June 1.
During that incident the man, who was taken from a house in the Cranbrook Gardens area, escaped injury after he was shot in both feet with what is thought to have been a low calibre weapon that failed to penetrate his footwear.
It is believed the victim, who was involved in a dispute with republicans, suffered only minor injuries.
Police have urged anyone with information to contact officers on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
