A MAN has appeared in court accused of taking photographs up a woman's skirt at a Belfast hotel.

Slovakian national Marian Antal faces a charge of committing an act outraging public decency.

The 26-year-old warehouseman, of Woodbreda Avenue in the city, is alleged to have behaved in a "lewd, obscene and disgusting" way on October 31 last year.

The charge against him of taking photos up a female's skirt is understood to relate to an alleged incident at Benedicts Hotel on Bradbury Place.

As he made his first appearance before Belfast Magistrates' Court defence solicitor Dennis Boyd made no submissions at this stage in the case.

Mr Antal was released on continuing bail to return in four weeks time.

At that stage a date is expected to be fixed for any proceedings to have him committed for trial.
