HEROIN valued at £4,000 has been seized by the PSNI in Co Down.

Two men, aged 33 and 46, were arrested during an operation by the Reactive and Organised Crime Branch in Hillsborough on Monday night.

Detective Inspector Andy Dunlop said: “The small packages which are the size of table tennis balls and wrapped in small plastic bags have been recovered as part of ongoing search activity.”

Meanwhile, a woman have been arrested after a quantity of suspected herbal cannabis worth £35,000 was seized in Co Down.

The drugs were recovered after the discovery of a cannabis factory in the Bexley Road area of Bangor by officers from the Organised Crime Branch on Tuesday afternoon.

Cannabis plants in various stages of growth were also found.

Detective Inspector Alan Pyper said the man, aged 50, and the 52-year-old woman were “arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and possession of class B drugs with intent to supply”.

He added that “a number of other items were also seized as part of this operation”.
