A Co Fermanagh couple have been left devastated after their personalised wedding rings were stolen in the run up to their big day. Mark McConkey (33) and Orla McBrien (29) are now desperately trying to replace the rings in time for their nuptials.

They were stolen during at a break-in at their Bellanaleck home, outside Enniskillen, at the weekend.

The couple have asked for the public's help should the rings, which include a diamond-encrusted white gold wedding band, be offered for sale.

Mr McConkey said their Corn Mill home was broken into while their were at a friends' house for dinner on Saturday.

"We came through the front door and immediately knew something was wrong," he said.

"In our kitchen there was just glass all around the floor. They smashed the French doors. The kitchen cupboards were all open and there was food all around the floor.

Mr McConkey said the couple then realised the rings for the April wedding were gone.

"The boxes had been left and the rings had been taken," he said.

"Orla was very upset ... we took our time picking them and it was a local jewellers in Enniskillen who were very good to us. We might find it difficult to replace the exact same ring again".

Mr McConkey took to Facebook to post a warning to other householders in the area.

"Our laptops, iPads etc were all accessible yet left alone. However we were not so lucky when it came to our wedding rings which we were due to give to each other in a few months on our wedding day!

"Please share with anyone you know who lives in the area and for those who do live in Bellanaleck be extra vigilant with your personal security."
