A MAN had a knife held to his throat after interrupting a thief at his home in east Belfast.

He had just returned to his house at Trillick Street on Tuesday at about 9pm when he found a man in the property.

Police said the victim, aged in his 30s, was not injured but his house was ransacked. However, nothing was stolen.

The thief is described as being in his late 20s or early 30s, approximately 5ft 7in tall, of heavy build with dark hair and stubble.

He was wearing a grey hooded top and light grey track bottoms.
