AN off-duty policewoman has been charged with crimes including causing death by dangerous driving after Omagh man Paul Mills died in a crash in October.

Mr Mills (49) died following a two-car crash on the Dromore Road on the outskirts of Omagh in Co Tyrone shortly after 10pm on Saturday October 10.

The father-of-two was originally from Omagh but lived in the Killyclogher area.

The off-duty officer, aged 40, was charged on Thursday with causing death by dangerous driving, dangerous driving, driving while unfit through drink or drugs, failing to stop where accident occurred causing injury, failing to report an accident whereby injury was caused and failing to remain where accident occurred causing injury.

She is to appear before Omagh Magistrates Court on Tuesday February 9.

A PSNI spokesman said: "We do not comment on the occupation of any charged person".
