Police hunt house robber in north Belfast

POLICE are hunting a thief who made off with items after targetting garden sheds in north Belfast.

At around 7.30am on Saturday, a man in his 60s disturbed an intruder in his home in the Forthriver Link area, close to the Crumlin Road.

The intruder ran off when he was challenged and is described as being approximately 5ft 10ins tall, with a heavy build and wearing dark clothing and a hooded top.

It was reported that a number of pieces of fishing equipment had been stolen from the garden shed of the property. Garden sheds of two other houses in the area had also been entered on Saturday morning.

A power washer reported stolen from one house was recovered nearby. Two bicycles, a black and white BMX and a girl's Raleigh mountain bike, were stolen from the other.
