A MAN and a woman have been critically injured in a three-car crash in Co Down while a man and woman in their 30s have been killed in a crash near Newtowncunningham, in Co Donegal.

The Donegal collision, involving two cars, happened just after 2.30pm today in the townland of Killyvery, which is about a mile from Newtowncunningham on the Letterkenny side.

It is understood that a third person was seriously injured in the crash.

The area has been sealed off by gardaí as emergency services attend the scene and garda forensic collision investigators have been requested to examine the scene.

The PSNI has happened for witnesses to the crash that happened on the A21 Bangor to Newtownards dual carriageway, near the Green Road junction, at 7.40pm on Thursday.

A number of people were taken to hospital after the crash. The road was closed overnight but has now reopened.

The Frosses Road in Co Antrim has reopened following a one-vehicle crash earlier today (pictured). There are no further details.
