The Irish ex-girlfriend of Hollywood star Jim Carrey has been found dead by apparent suicide at her Los Angeles home.
Cathriona White (38), a make-up artist from Cappawhite in Co Tipperary, is reported to have died from a drug overdose.
Carrey has been married twice and had a long-term relationship with actress Jenny McCarthy that ended in 2010. He has a daughter with his first wife.
Ms White first became involved with the 53-year-old Dumb and Dumber actor on the set of a 2012 film.
At the time, Canadian-born Carrey told an interviewer: "Cathriona is a lovely young woman. I have always been attracted to talent, so if someone is beautiful and talented, that’s hard to resist."
The couple dated for almost a year before ending their relationship.
In 2013, Carrey told an Irish newspaper that he had gone out with "an Irish girl", adding: "We’re not seeing each other anymore. But she is lovely."
They are understood to have begun dating again in May this year, with Carrey photographed wearing a Tipperary jersey in New York.
However, the couple broke up for a second time late last week.
After moving to LA, Ms White dabbled in acting but focussed mainly on her work as a make-up artist. Her credits include the short films Firefly and Solitude in 2012 and 2013.
