A man has been ordered to stand trial charged with the alleyway murder of a father-of-one in west Belfast.
Malachy Goodman (58) is accused of killing Edward Gibson and possessing a firearm and ammunition with intent to endanger life.
Mr Gibson (28) was shot in the stomach and thigh at Clonfaddan Crescent, in the Divis area of the city, on October 24 last year. He died in hospital early the next day.
The killing, said to have been part of a long-running dispute, was allegedly connected to a fight earlier the same day.
Goodman, of Rockmore Road in west Belfast, appeared before the city's Magistrates Court yesterday for a preliminary enquiry hearing.
Prosecutors submitted that based on the papers he has a case to answer.
No defence witnesses were called or evidence given at this stage in the process.
District Judge Fiona Bagnall granted an application to have Goodman returned for trial at Belfast Crown Court.
He was released on continuing bail of £1,000 until his arraignment takes place on a date to be fixed.
Goodman must abide by a night-time curfew, wear an electronic tag and report to police three times a week.
He is also banned from entering certain areas and cannot contact witnesses in the case.
