Lorry driver on cocained charges

A 37-year-old lorry driver from Co Armagh was charged with drug offences after cocaine worth more than one million euros was seized at Dublin Port.

About 15kg of cocaine was seized from a lorry that travelled to Dublin Port from Britain on Saturday.

Maurice McCreesh, of Main Street, Forkhill, appeared at Dublin District Court yesterday charged with possessing drugs with intent to supply.

The court heard the driver, who has not yet indicated how he will plead, has lost his job.

He was remanded in custody and will appear in court again on September 18.
