Q RADIO DJ Owen Larkin is calling on people from across the north to join him in an abseil to raise money for meningitis research later this month.

The popular DJ, who presents the afternoon show on the radio network, is to abseil off the top of Belfast Castle on Sunday September 27.

All money raised will go to the Meningitis Research Foundation.

A jump of 100ft to meet family and friends gathered in the gardens below is the challenge on offer.

Mr Larkin said: "I’ve abseiled off Cavehill for the charity in the past and enjoyed the experience. You can’t beat the rush of adrenaline and the start and the satisfaction you feel at the end having completed it and raised funds for a great cause."

Registration is just £30 and participants are asked to raise a minimum of £50 sponsorship, which can pay for five hours of in-depth support for those affected by meningitis.
