TWO men are now in a stable condition in hospital after a car accident.

The pair, in their 20s, were injured in a one-vehicle crash on the Kilraughts Road on the outskirts of Ballymoney at 12.20am on Sunday.

After initially being taken to the Causeway Hospital in Coleraine, one man was transferred to Altnagelvin in Derry while the second was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

The car is understood to have burst into flames after crashing into a wall, with one of the men in a critical condition on Sunday.

However, the condition of both men is now described as stable.

Ulster Unionist councillor Darryl Wilson said: "The news that both are now in a stable condition is an improvement. Our thoughts and prayers are with them."
