A BODY found in Cavehill Country Park is believed to be that of Jonathan Tipping, who had been missing from his home since Wednesday.

Formal identification has yet to take place but the family of Mr Tipping, who was from the Cavehill Road, were informed of the discovery of the body shortly after 12 noon yesterday.

PUP councillor Julie-Anne Corr Johnston said she was “consumed with sadness” at the news.

She said: “Words seem inadequate to express the sorrow felt by the news. Our thoughts are with Jonathan's parents and family circle at this difficult time. Wishing them peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in their hearts.”

PSNI Inspector Roy Burnside said: "We would like to extend our sympathies to the Tipping family at this sad time. I would also like to extend my thanks to all those who assisted in the search operation."
