Knife used in Dornan murder sold 'door to door'
The knife used in the murder of young mum Jennifer Dornan is part of a batch of kitchen blades sold door-to-door across Belfast.
On Thursday detectives released a photograph of a 14-inch orange and white knife similar to the one they believe was used.
The distinctive blade is from a box of kitchen knives that were sold for £20 by door to door salesmen in north and west Belfast last year.
It is thought that hundreds of boxes of the knives may have been sold.
Police have not said whether the knife was taken from Ms Dornan's home or if the killer brought it with him.
Detectives, who believe the killer torched the property in an attempt to cover their tracks, also revealed that they know that a man left the property at 4.20am.
They believe he may have changed his clothing while walking towards Poleglass, possibly taking a red and gold sports jersey from a washing line, removing a grey top and light coloured jacket that has yet to be recovered.
A 39-year-old man arrested in west Belfast on suspicion of withholding information in relation to the murder was released on Thursday pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.
