Co Antrim man's body found in Brighton holiday flat

A MURDER investigation is underway after the body of a Co Antrim man was discovered in a holiday flat in Brighton.

Sussex Police have yet to confirm the man’s name, but it is understood the victim was 54-year-old Stewart Whyte.

His body was found at 3.30am on July 14 at a holiday flat in Chesham Place in Kemp Town in the popular seaside resort.

The occupants had been due to check out that morning from the property, which had been rented out since July 9.

A 60 year-old man has been arrested and bailed until September 30 in connection with the death.

A cause of death has not yet been given, with police saying post-mortem tests were inconclusive.

A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: "The coroner is still carrying out inquiries so at this stage we cannot confirm the details of the victim."
