Pomeroy man accused of string of indecent assaults

A Co Tyrone man is to stand trial accused of a nine-year campaign of indecent assaults on a woman.

Aiden Patrick Molloy (54) is charged with 11 separate counts - all involving the same alleged victim.

The charges cover a period between December 1995 and October 2004.

Molloy, of Loughbracken Road, Pomeroy, appeared before Belfast Magistrates' Court yesterday for preliminary enquiry proceedings.

No evidence was given or witnesses called during the hearing.

District Judge Fiona Bagnall backed prosecution submissions that Molloy has a case to answer.

She ordered him to be returned for trial at Belfast Crown Court on a date to be fixed.

Molloy was released on continuing bail until that hearing gets underway.
