IF you’re a fan of alcohol but not of exercise, it sounds like the perfect way to get acquainted with a new city.
A Belfast tour operator is now offering visitors to the city the opportunity to have a walking tour of the city – without doing any walking and without leaving the pub.
Experience Belfast, the company behind the 'There’s More to Belfast than Walls' show, promise their converted walking tour will offer a "great night out with humour, music and song" for tourists and locals alike.
Arthur Magee from Experience Belfast said: "When I started the tours in 2009, it was always in my mind to make the tour into a show and that’s what I’ve done."
He added: "It’s based on 'The Little Book of Belfast' which Raymond O’Regan and I wrote. It’s something a little bit different for visitors and locals."
While not ignoring the history and politics of the city, Mr Magee is keen to showcase Belfast’s major attractions – including its residents.
He said: "Belfast is a wonderful city with a fascinating history but what really sets it apart are the people."
On its website, the company describes it as the "perfect introduction to the city."
It states: "The tour is being developed as a one man show which sounds grand but is a walking tour for people too lazy to walk!"
The walking tour with a difference launches in the Sunflower Bar in Union Street on Sunday evening at 7.30pm and is set to run on Sundays throughout July and August.
Tickets cost £8 and can be purchased from Visit Belfast in Donegall Place.
