Second nightclub employee loses job over Ardoyne comments

FOR the second time in a matter of days, an employee has lost their job over comments posted on Facebook about an Orangeman accused of driving into a crowd in Ardoyne.

In a posting the woman allegedly made a sectarian comment about the driver before expressing support for the IRA.

In a statement issued yesterday, Coach nightclub in Banbridge said that the woman was no longer employed by the club following the remarks.

It said: "The Coach Banbridge will never tolerate sectarian, bigoted or racist abuse. Their comments do not represent the opinions of the Coach or affiliated business."

"We are an equal opportunity employer and will continue to welcome patrons from all parts of the community. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our existing patrons for making us aware of this issue as it is of the utmost importance to the Coach team and its affiliates."

Earlier this week an employee of Thompson’s Garage nightclub in Belfast was "removed" after posting comments in support of the alleged actions of the driver.

Thompson’s Garage said it "did not condone any form of sectarian or bigoted behaviour."
