PETROL bombs caused scorch damage to a loyalist community centre in north Belfast yesterday.

A unexploded pipe bomb was also found at the Sammy Duddy Conflict Transformation Centre at York Road.

Windows were smashed and three petrol bombs were thrown into the office.

Two of the bombs ignited, causing some scorch damage to the ground floor.

Police said they received reports of a building on fire at York Road at about 1.30am yesterday.

The pipe bomb was taken away for forensic examination.

The centre is named after UDA founder Sammy Duddy, who died from a heart attack in 2007.
