THE family of Berkeley balcony victim Clodagh Cogley have released photos of her in the San Francisco clinic where she is undergoing rehabilitation.

The 21-year-old psychology student was among seven young Irish people seriously injured when they fell 40ft after a balcony collapsed during a party at a California apartment complex on June 16.

Six Irish J-1 students and a young American woman died in the accident.

In the first photo, Clodagh is seen lying in bed beside one of the facility’s therapy dogs.

The second image shows her sitting up, with the caption: “Lovely new photo of Clodagh working hard and making great progress. And sporting a new hairstyle! We all love you Clodagh and miss you. See you soon!”

Last week, Clodagh wrote on Facebook that she was unlikely to regain the use of her legs after breaking her spinal cord. Other injuries she suffered included collapsed lungs, a broken shoulder, five broken ribs and a broken knee.

Her supporters have set up a gofundme account with the aim of raising €25,000 to help fund her rehabilitation and her needs once she returns home to Dublin.

“Her family house will need to be adapted significantly to meet Clodagh's needs and accommodate a wheelchair and there'll be numerous other expenses - we want to help with this,” they said.

Meanwhile, the Academy in Dublin will host an event for the survivors on July 23 with performances from Jape, The Fontaines, The Dublin Gospel Choir and Vann Music, among others.
