A HEALTH trust has sent out letters warning parents that a male nurse has been charged in connection with indecent images of children.
The 45-year-old man, with an address in north Belfast, has appeared in court.
The nurse had access to children as part of his work with the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust.
He has been suspended from the trust pending internal disciplinary procedures.
Parents whose children may have come in contact with the nurse have received letters informing them of the charges.
It is understood staff from the trust have also contacted some parents in person.
A advice line has been set up for parents who want to speak to trust staff.
A spokeswoman for the Belfast Trust said: "We are aware a member of staff has been charged with offences relating to indecent images".
"The individual has been suspended pending internal disciplinary procedures," she said.
"The Trust is fully cooperating with PSNI and will continue to do so over the course of this process."
