RORY McIlroy has given fans a glimpse into his luxury lifestyle as he celebrated his latest victory in his private jet.

The golfing star made his first foray into the world of live video app Persicope as he travelled from North Carolina to London.

Taking questions from fans at 30,000 feet, McIlroy was joined by friends and caddie JP Fitzgerald as they enjoyed a few celebratory drinks after he won the Wells Fargo Championship at the weekend.

Periscope, an application launched by Twitter, allows users to stream live video to followers using the camera on their smartphone.

Asked if he thought he could replicate his American success by shooting 21 under par when he plays the Irish Open later this year, the world number one laughed and said: "No chance."

The 26-year-old even took song requests including DJ Snake and Jay-Z from followers who conversed online with him during the broadcast.

After around 30 minutes McIlroy signed off, saying he and his team needed to get some sleep.

He said: "Thanks for everything and we will be back on here again soon."
