Police officials in US visit

CHIEF Constable George Hamilton and NI Policing Board Chair Anne Connolly are to attend a series of engagements in Washington and New York this week.

They will meet political representatives, opinion formers and policing organisations including the New York Crime Commission.

Mr Hamilton said: "Over the years key US stake-holders, including policing colleagues, politicians and academics, have played an important role in supporting policing in Northern Ireland.

"The PSNI and NIPB have always appreciated and benefited from their interest and support and the relationships continue to be both relevant and important.

"During the days ahead, there will also be an opportunity to share some of learning and experience from policing in Northern Ireland with policing and criminal justice agencies in the US."
