Police hit by stolen car

TWO boys aged 16 and 15 and a 29-year-old man were being questioned last night after a stolen car reversed into a police vehicle, injuring two officers. The three were arrested on Monday evening, several hours after a car was stolen on Clifton Street in north Belfast. Police spotted the car on the Springfield Road in west Belfast just before 5.40pm on Monday. Officers chased the car. But it reversed into the police car on nearby Iris Street, injuring two officers. The stolen car later stopped on Gortfin Street. It is understood the officers' injuries are not life-threatening. The three arrested were being questioned last night about crimes including aggravated taking and driving away, theft and burglary. Inspector Paul Noble said the stolen car may have been used in thefts on Rosemary Street and Boucher Crescent in the city.
