DERRY DUP councillor Maurice Devenney has been selected to replace former assembly speaker William Hay at Stormont.
Mr Hay resigned his assembly seat earlier this month on health grounds. Mr Devenney, above, has been a Derry city councillor since 2005 and was mayor in 2011/12. DUP leader Peter Robinson said he was delighted to welcome the party's newest MLA.
