Jail sentence for drug dealer

A 34-YEAR-OLD man who admitted dealing drugs for east Belfast paramilitaries has been sentenced to seven months in jail. James William Mills, from Willowfield Walk in the city, will spend an additional seven months on licence when he is released from custody after appearing in the dock of Belfast Crown Court yesterday on seven charges. Mills was arrested after he crashed his BMW into two parked cars in east Belfast on June 6 last year. Police found a bag of herbal cannabis and an metal extendable baton in the car and alist of names and figures in his sock. A further 270 grammes of herbal cannabis were found in his house. A defence barrister claimed Mills became involved with supplying drugs after struggling with his own cannabis addiction. As well as being handed a 14-month sentence, Mills was also fined £900 for driving offences, and banned from driving for a year.
