Lord of Rings star at Co Down wedding

LORD of the Rings star Orlando Bloom was among the guests at a wedding in Co Down at the weekend.

The English actor was at the wedding of actress friend Flora Montgomery and her partner Soren Jessen in Greyabbey on the Ards Peninsula.

Also at the wedding were Danish Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary.

The nuptials took place on Montgomery's family's ancestral home Rosemount House in the village.

The ruins of the 12th century Grey Abbey are located in the parkland of the estate.

Montgomery (40) has had a host of stage, TV and film roles since graduating from The Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin in 1994.

Her TV and film roles have included Midsomer Murders, The Bill, Monarch of the Glen, Pulling Moves, Basic Instinct 2 and Endeavour.

Bloom - who played the part of Legolas in the award-winning Lord of the Rings trilogy - wore a navy suit, floral shirt and gold-coloured tie.

The actor separated last year from his wife of three years, Australian model Miranda Kerr. They had a son together in 2011.

Bloom stopped to pose for pictures with fans and fellow guests and even some PSNI officers. He will be seen on the big screen later this year in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Montgomery is the daughter of fine art and property consultant William Montgomery, of Rosemount House and Estate, and his second wife Daphne.
