International festival brings colour to city

MUSIC fans brought an explosion of colour to a blustery day in Belfast on Saturday at the Indian-inspired Holi One festival.

The international event came to the city's Ormeau Park with an intoxicating mix of music, dance and performance art, with colour powder thrown into the air every hour by an audience dressed in white clothes. Organisers said the aim is to celebrate togetherness and the colour

of everyday life.

Inspired by the Hindu spring festival of Holi, similar events were attended by 100,000 people worldwide last year.

The festival has already visited Capetown, Bucharest and London this year and moves to Bath later this month.
