THE first photo of Co Down actor Jamie Dornan as Christian grey from the long-awaited film version of popular novel Fifty Shades of Grey has been released.
Universal Pictures released a still of the actor to mark the character's birthday on Wednesday.
Dornan, an actor and model from Holywood, won the coveted role in October after original choice Charlie Hunnam gave up the part.
The 32-year-old has had roles in Sofia Coppola's film Marie Antoinette and US fantasy series Once
Upon a Time, but is best known for playing serial killer Paul Spector in Belfast-shot BBC series The Fall.
The Shades of Grey trilogy topped the bestseller lists around the world and sold more than 100 million copies.
The film adaptation is being directed by award-winning english artist and filmmaker Sam Taylor-Johnson.
Fans of the series are eagerly awaiting the film's release in February 2015.
Dornan stars as wealthy businessman Christian grey, opposite actress Dakota Johnson, who plays the female lead anastasia Steele.
