Million-pound fraud hearing

TWO men are facing charges connected to an alleged million pound bank fraud. Michael robin Burns and Trevor McClintock are accused of making untrue claims about a law firm holding or controlling large sums of cash connected to loan repayments. The pair face multiple counts of fraud by false representation against either lloyds TSB, Barclays Bank or Bank of Scotland. The charges, which relate to periods in 2008 and 2009, include reference of loans of £1,075,000, £510,000 and £300,000. District judge Fiona Bagnall agreed to adjourn the hearing for five weeks to allow defence teams time to prepare.
