SF power-deal for Dublin

SINN Fein has struck a power-sharing deal on Dublin City Council which will secure it the Lord Mayor role for the 1916 Easter Rising commemorations. The agreement with Labour, the Green Party and Independents will rotate the top seat at City Hall over the coming five years and commits the authority to tacking the capital's housing crisis. Former Sinn Fein councillor Christy Burke, now standing as an Independent, was elected the new Lord Mayor for the next 12 months.

Sinn Fein councillor Larry O'Toole will be Mr Burke's deputy.
