Low turnout at city centre TUV parade

JUST a handful of TUV members took part in a parade from Belfast City Hall to Stormont yesterday. The Parades Commission was notified late about the parade, organised by North Belfast TUV. Organisers said they expected between 25 and 50 people to take part in the march between 11.30am and 2.30pm. At one point an onlooker counted three marchers holding a banner on Newtownards Road, followed by a woman with a pram and a man in a car with TUV stickers on the windows. Last night police said: "Police attended a notified procession today which made its route from City Hall to Stormont." A TUV spokesman was unavailable for comment yesterday.
