Sporting stars set for 'Night of Legends'

FIVE of Ireland's biggest sporting legends are set to come together for a star-studded charity night in aid of the Michaela Foundation. Former Irish international rugby player Brian O'Driscoll and Ireland football manager Martin O'Neill are two of the sporting elite set to attend the 'Night of Legends' event in memory of Michaela McAreavey.

Also joining them will be 2014 Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley, Tyrone's All-Ireland-winning manager Mickey Harte and hurling's most decorated player, Kilkenny's 11-time Allstar, Henry Shefflin.

The evening of "fine dining, sports chat and memorabilia auctioning" will also give guests a chance to meet the 'legends' as well as enjoy an exclusive night of sporting entertainment with the famous faces.

The event will be held at Carton house hotel, Maynooth on May 1. John McAreavey, chief executive of the Michaela Foundation, said: "We are absolutely thrilled to host such a unique night of sporting entertainment. "We feel very privileged to bring these Irish sporting legends together and to be able to listen to their individual and shared stories of success. "Personally, I can't wait to hear the legend's different opinions on a variety of sporting matters. It should be an amazing night. "As event sponsor, we are delighted that Carton house can offer us a wonderful location to honour this unique occasion." For further information please visit www. themichaelafoundation.com.
