HEAVY snow fell across the north last night as temperatures plummeted. Counties Derry, Tyrone and Antrim bore the brunt of the bad weather, with more snow predicted for this morning. The met office said the snow will give way to rain today but towns in Co Tyrone, including Cookstown and omagh, will also see sleet showers. Meanwhile, cars were abandoned in Co Donegal yesterday after heavy snowfall caused dangerous road conditions.
