Flexibility among house sellers

Three-fifths (63 per cent) of homes sold in November went for less than the asking price, according to figures from the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA).

It said its survey indicates that sellers are still flexible to offers on their property despite the year's upturn in the housing market.

Nearly two-thirds (62 per cent) of property sales in November were due to house buyers wanting to upsize from their existing property.

Jan Hytch, president of the NAEA, says: "With confidence in the economy beginning to grow, first-time buyers are feeling positive and taking the leap onto the housing ladder."
